Windows Defender Spyware
In movies, we all have seen spies. They
fight, drive a fast car, steal designs of secret weapons, etc. However, we
often unknowingly come across spies in our real life too. They steal our
identities, credit card information, personal data, etc. We need our own James
Bond to protect ourselves from these spies. Windows Defender Spyware does just the thing.
Before going any further, the question that
needs to be answered is what is a computer virus. The computer virus or malware
is a computer program written in malicious intent like stealing identity and
data, infecting files, etc. There are numerous types of malicious software like
a trojan horse that looks harmless to pass the firewall and then get activated.
A logic bomb is a piece of code that will be executed and give rise to
malicious activities once a certain condition is met. Spyware is the malware that
collects confidential user information like card number, id password and sends
them to a third party without the consent of the user. Backdoor is the secret
path that bypasses the authentic information of the system. Ransomware is the
malware that steals confidential information and threatens to disclose the
information until their demands are met.
Windows Defender
is an integrated anti-malware component of Microsoft windows package since Windows 8.1 and later editions. In Windows 10 Creators Update and later, it is called Windows Defender Antivirus. This software was first released for Windows XP and was given as a downloadable free anti-spyware program. It was later shipped with Windows Vista and Windows 7. Now it is a full antivirus program.
Although initially launched as Anti Spyware
software, Windows Defender Spyware
is a full-fledged antivirus now. In fact, it is considered the quietest and
efficient anti-virus software. There are many positive aspects of Widows Defender Protection Free. The
first one is since it is built into windows 8.1 and windows 10, no need to
install it separately. It has vastly improved malware protection. It is
integrated with OS so the system impact is very minimal and won’t even be
noticed that it is installed. It does not keep on bothering you all the time
and most of the time it works in the background. It is also compatible with web
browsers and other apps. It is one of the safest as well, marking almost all
the threats. There is another benefit of Windows
Defender being integrated with OS that there is no need to upgrade the
antivirus. However, there is a feedback that the software often marks false
positives that identify safe software as dangerous. Also, after the creators’
update in Windows 10, the interface of Windows
Defender changed somewhat and now it is integrated into the new Windows
Defender Security Center. The Windows Defender Security Center provides access
to various security-related tools. For example, it provides access to tools
such as family protection, firewall settings, browser security control, device
performance, and health reports.
Based on the above discussion, Windows Defender Spyware can be considered
as a good antivirus to have.
