Speed & Reliability

Breakneck speeds, especially for same-country connections

Cyber Ghost is just like most popular VPN service providers for fast download an Uploads speeds, but the only issue is that – it lacks in consistency.

Cyber Ghost VPN’s base location (for illustration, London to London) download and upload speeds are impressive, but Cyber Ghost users linking to international servers may see a considerable drop-off in speed, also arise in ping times.

Use the following table to see how Cyber Ghost speeds fare against its top-scoring rivals in 11 locations across the world.

Result of speed test from our base location in London (100Mbps fibre optic connection) to a London test server.

Before using CyberGhost:

When connected to CyberGhost:

Server Locations

3,500 servers throughout the world

Cyber Ghost’s provides nearly endless servers covering the entire world, with mind boggling server coverage in Europe and North America.

It provides 3,500 server alternatives joined with a similar number of IP addresses.

3,500 servers is a significant number, and seem like one of the highest server counts available in the market. While it’s lesser than Nord VPN’s 5,000 plus servers, we can’t ignore the fact that it is higher than most of the VPNs.

Just like IP Vanish, Cyber Ghost owns all of its DNS servers, which means that it doesn’t depend on rented servers to give VPN connections.

The countries with the highest number of Cyber Ghost servers are the US (708), Germany (609), France (336), the UK (288) and Canada (175).

Cyber Ghost covers 13 different US locations and 3 locations in Australia, Canada, and the UK at the city-level.

Streaming & Torrenting

Great for Netflix, Torrenting and More

Cyber Ghost offers many servers dedicated to Netflix only, isn’t that amazing? They’re quite easy to come across in the app, and we’ve never faced any problem regarding the unblocking Netflix while using Cyber Ghost VPN.

Cyber Ghost also includes its own BBC iPlayer dedicated server, too, and Cyber Ghost is at present one of the highly-recommended VPN for BBC iPlayer.

Cyber Ghost is not limited till here, its subscribers also noted that it supports:

  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Hulu
  • HBO
  • Sling TV
  • Sky
  • Now TV
  • PlayStation Vue

Torrenting

You must be thinking that this all so much to digest in one go.

However, the marvels of Cyber Ghost doesn’t end here, it’s also an excellent choice for torrenting, although there are a couple of things to keep in mind:

•    It doesn’t support torrenting on its US or Australian servers

•    It only enables P2P restrictions through its Windows and macOS applications

If you’re okay with these P2P restrictions, and then Cyber Ghost is a secure, fast and dependable VPN for torrenting. Cyber Ghost doesn’t log, it includes a VPN kill switch, and while we tested for IP/DNS leaks, we discovered nothing.

Bypassing Censorship

No good for China and highly censored countries

Cyber Ghost is not recommendable for high censored countries since it can’t assure to bypass aggressive web censors.

Sadly, Cyber Ghost doesn’t provide the obfuscation tools which make Express VPN and Vypr VPN invincible in case of VPN services, especially to beat online censorship in countries like China, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.
Cyber Ghost even clears you that the use of a VPN in particular locations is prohibited and Cyber Ghost VPN must not be operated from these countries. Cyber Ghost does state that bypass to enable its VPN work in these countries is present, but that you must avoid trying them.
This means Cyber Ghost warns people for using its VPN in countries where VPNs are not valid.

Cyber Ghost provides a VPN browser extension for Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. These extensions are free but, depend on whether or not you’re a paying customer; you can access only eight servers in four locations (2 servers each) via them: United States, Germany, Romania, and the Netherlands.
However, these VPN add-ons are just proxies which only protect your web traffic. We recommend you use Cyber Ghost’s VPN extensions with the primary VPN application or VPN client continuously.
